Yes! Our retail kiosk is open to all park guests. You’ll find swimmable mermaid tails, glitter sunscreen, braid accessories, and magical gifts to take home.

Yes! Our mermaid stylists are trained to work with a wide range of hair types, including curly, coily, and textured hair. However, to ensure we can style your hair safely and beautifully, it must be detangled and free of heavy product before your appointment.

We are also happy to braid over existing protective styles such as cornrows, box braids, or twists, as long as the hair is neat and braid-ready. If your protective style is loose, tangled, or too tight for added braiding, we may offer a glitter styling or accessory add-on instead of a full Mermaid Braid.

No. Mermaid Cove services are sold separately and do not include park entry. You must have valid park admission to access Mermaid Cove.

Not at all! Mermaid Cove is designed to work around your swimwear or park outfit. If you’re booking the Mermaid Transformation Experience, we recommend wearing something you’ll feel great splashing or taking photos in at KonTiki Cove.

Absolutely! Friends and family are welcome to watch your transformation and take photos in our grotto salon. Just be mindful of space and other guests.

Yes! We offer a variety of colorful braid tie-ins and accessories. Your mermaid stylist will help you choose the perfect color match your vibe — from ocean pastels to bold rainbow tones.

*Please note that the Express Braid style does not include choice of color. This style includes choice of pre made braid varieties. You can choose from any styles and colors available.

Most Mermaid Braid appointments take 20-30 minutes, depending on hair type and style chosen. The Mermaid Transformation Experience may take slightly longer due to the additional photo and splash session. Please allow extra time around your appointment if you have other activities planned in the park.

Nope! We never use heat tools at Mermaid Cove, and we only use gentle elastics and lightweight accessories. Our goal is to create magical styles that are safe, comfortable, and fun for all hair types.

NO- There are no additional fees, though you are welcome to leave gratuity at check out for your mermaid.

Please note all online bookings are taken with a card on hold in case of no show. You will pay in full at your appointment.

Wild Rivers Does not allow swimming in tails. You may be allowed to splash at Kontiki Cove or other shallow water areas, check with your local lifegaurd!

Yes! After your makeover, you’ll get a photo moment in our real seashell throne inside the themed grotto salon. Guests who book the Mermaid Transformation Experience will also receive a special photo session at KonTiki Cove with a mermaid performer.

Hair must be clean, brushed, and detangled before your appointment. Wet hair is perfectly okay, but heavily tangled or unbrushed hair may not be eligible for styling.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your appointment time to check in and secure your place in line. Guests arriving more than 5 minutes late may forfeit their appointment with no refund.

Not at all! Mermaid Cove is for all ages — kids, teens, and adults are all welcome to experience the transformation. If you love sparkle, color, and fun, you're the perfect candidate.

Every makeover is performed by a real mermaid character trained in both hairstyling and creating magical guest interactions. It’s part of what makes Mermaid Cove so unique!

Mermaid Cove is an immersive makeover and retail experience located inside Wild Rivers Water Park. Guests of all ages can receive colorful, swimmable mermaid braids styled by real mermaid characters, enjoy themed photo ops, and shop exclusive mermaid merchandise.

Mermaid Cove is located near the Front Gate inside Wild Rivers. Look for the shimmering signage, the seashell throne, and a splash of mermaid magic — you can’t miss us!
